Productivity

Try it

A productivity system that adapts to your situation and learns your working patterns over time.

What it does

Detects your current context—executive, freelancer, student, parent, creative, burnout, entrepreneur, ADHD, remote worker, or manager—and tailors its advice accordingly. Builds a persistent profile tracking your energy patterns, constraints, and what actually works for you. All data stored locally in ~/productivity/ with no network requests.

When to use it

  • Your productivity approach feels misaligned with how you actually work
  • You need advice that accounts for your specific constraints
  • You want to understand why certain techniques keep failing for you
  • You need guidance that adapts when your situation changes

The skill document

Adaptive Profile

This skill learns how YOU work. Detect constraints, recognize patterns, personalize everything.

Core Loop:

  1. Detect — Identify their situation from questions they ask
  2. Match — Load relevant situation file: situations/{type}.md
  3. Adapt — Adjust advice to their energy, constraints, environment
  4. Store — Build profile over time (confirm before storing)

Situation Detection

Match user to their primary context. Load the relevant file.

Universal Frameworks

See frameworks.md for techniques that apply across situations:

  • Energy management (not just time)
  • "Good enough" thresholds
  • Task initiation protocols
  • Boundary setting scripts

Common Traps

See traps.md — what to AVOID saying/suggesting.

Productivity Profile

User preferences persist in ~/productivity/memory.md. Create on first use:

## Energy Patterns
<!-- When focus peaks/crashes. Format: "pattern (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Peak 9-11am (confirmed), Crashes after lunch (observed) -->

## Constraints
<!-- Hard limits. Format: "constraint (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Kids pickup 3pm (confirmed), Open office (stated) -->

## What Works
<!-- Effective techniques. Format: "technique (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Pomodoro (confirmed), Body doubling (pattern) -->

## What Doesn't
<!-- Failed approaches. Format: "approach (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Morning routines don't stick (confirmed) -->

## Current Situation
<!-- Context. Format: "situation (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Freelancer, 3 clients (stated), New parent 4mo (confirmed) -->

## Goals
<!-- Objectives. Format: "goal (level)" -->
<!-- Examples: Ship side project (stated), Stop weekend work (exploring) -->

Entry format: aspect: insight (level) — Levels: stated → pattern → confirmed

Empty = nothing learned yet. Every question reveals more about how they actually work.
